Girls'Day - Girls' Future Day

Dear students, due to current developments regarding the corona virus, we have decided to cancel Girl's Day 2020. This is for the protection and safety of our staff and you. We hope to be able to offer you an exciting and informative program next year - please come back and visit our website!

Working in a laboratory - what does a scientist do?

What is on the programme?

Together with our female scientists you will take a look behind the scenes of Fraunhofer EMFT. That means one thing above all: going to the lab yourself!

  1. You will find out what microelectronics is actually used for. Thereby, we`re not going to see just any pump, but the smallest pump in the world.
  2. We're also sneaking into a clean room. Is that special? Oh yes, it is! Nobody can just walk in here. Our researcher will explain you the reasons. Afterwards she will show you how to be not only a scientist but also an artist with screen printing in the laboratory. Of course you can create your own little artwork.
  3. In the afternoon there is another highlight: Each of you can build your own little brushing robot. You will learn how to connect electronic systems by crimping and soldering.

For whom? For girls from 11 to 13 years of age who are interested in technology and science and want to get to know an exciting profession in this field (max. 6 participants | no previous knowledge required).

When? 26 March 2020, 9.30 a.m. to approx. 3 p.m.

Where? Fraunhofer EMFT, Hansastr. 27d, 80686 Munich

Please note that the places for this year's Girls'Day are all already booked.
