Fraunhofer EMFT offers diverse solutions for monitoring continuous and discrete dosing quantities in integrated dosing systems. Both gases and liquids can be monitored. From nanoliter per second to ml/min, a wide field can be covered with capacitive and differential pressure-based measurement methods with own developments. Commercial sensor solutions are also integrated into dosing systems if required.
In collaboration with our partners, we develop highly integrated, application-specific control systems for microfluidic applications. By combining state-of-the-art sensor technologies with our innovative piezo micropumps, we create intelligent, miniaturised solutions.
Capacitive measurement technology enables precise detection of liquid volumes in microchannels, whether in the nanolitre range or for highly accurate time-of-flight measurements. When used alongside flow sensors based on anemometric or pressure drop methods, even the smallest pulsatile volume flows can be reliably detected and controlled. Our piezo micropumps also offer self-sensing capabilities: time-resolved measurement of the charging current enables fill levels and pressure conditions in the pump chamber to be monitored without the need for additional sensors.
These control systems are ideal for applications requiring a compact design, fast response times and maximum measurement accuracy, such as in medical technology, diagnostics and environmental analysis.
