In contrast, disposable products are usually used for applications on the body, for example for diabetes therapy, pain therapy or hormone therapy; this requires low manufacturing costs at high volumes.

Furthermore, users are supported in organizing the manufacturing chain with suitable companies. For example, strategic collaborations exist for metal micropumps (Rapa Healthcare GmbH, Germany) and silicon micropumps (Philips, Netherlands) for manufacturing the micropumps to suit specific applications.
