Trusted Electronics

Trusted Electronics and data security are the basis for digital connected systems, especially for the Internet of Things, but also for artificial intelligence (AI). Above all where personal or security-critical data is processed, e.g. in medical technology, autonomous driving or in mission-critical infrastructures, it is important that the owners have total control over their data processing systems, and the users are informed about the features of the systems they are using.

Test and Analysis for Trusted Electronics

Due to the strong internationalization in the electronics development, the topic of trustworthiness has become a great challenge. Trusted electronics has to fulfill all our expectations concerning the respective functionality and specifications, while allowing no backdoors or other vulnerabilities for attackers. Everything else could result in manipulation, attacks or total system failures.

Trusted electronics includes therefore not just forgery-proof hardware and reliable software, but begins at secure semiconductor production and extends over such complicated topics as non-readable memory, secure identity of computers and secure embedded systems.

Research Project Velektronik

The research project  »Velektronik - Vertrauenswürdige Elektronik (ZEUS)« of the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF), aims to establish a networking platform for trusted electronics as an interface between research and industry.
